PRODUCT DETAILS
Specifications, Options & Buying Information
SENFON manufactures stainless steel stock pot trolleys and platform carts with side rails for commercial kitchens, central kitchens, catering operations, food-processing areas and B2B distribution. This product page covers two related transport structures: a stock pot trolley with a retaining ring designed around the vessel, and a flat platform cart with side rails for cartons, containers, tools and other items that need additional containment during movement.
These products serve a different workflow from a conventional open 2-tier or 3-tier service trolley. Buyers should confirm the transported item, platform dimensions, rail or retaining structure, working load, load distribution, route, floor condition, castors and packing before quotation. For a broader comparison of side-rail and stock-pot configurations, review the Stainless Steel Trolleys with Sides & Stock Pot Trolleys Guide.
This product belongs to SENFON's Commercial Stainless Steel Carts & Utility Trolleys range.
Stock Pot Trolley vs. Platform Cart with Side Rails
| Specification | Stock Pot Trolley | Platform Cart with Side Rails |
|---|---|---|
| Main use | Moving large stock pots, soup vessels and similar containers | Moving cartons, food containers, tools, tableware and general supplies |
| Containment structure | Custom retaining ring coordinated with the vessel diameter | Side-rail layout around the platform with loading access defined by the project |
| Critical RFQ input | Pot diameter, approximate loaded weight, centre of gravity and route | Item dimensions, rail height/openings, working load and loading direction |
| Customization | Ring diameter, ring position, platform size, handle and castors | Platform size, rail height, rail spacing, deck style, handle and castors |
Stock Pot Trolley for Large Kitchen Vessels
The stock pot trolley is intended for moving large pots, soup vessels and similar containers between preparation, cooking, holding or cleaning areas. The retaining ring is designed to help position the vessel on the trolley platform, but it should not be treated as a universal safety guarantee. Pot diameter, loaded weight, centre of gravity, travel route and operator workflow still need to be considered.
Buyers can provide the stock pot outer diameter, vessel height, drawing or reference photo. SENFON can then review the retaining ring diameter, ring position, platform dimensions and supporting structure against the application.
Reference Size
| Stock Pot Trolley Reference | 650 × 600 × 900 mm |
| Custom inputs | Platform dimensions, retaining ring diameter, handle height, material, thickness and castors |
The stock pot itself is not automatically included with the trolley quotation. If a matching vessel is required, its scope should be confirmed separately.
Platform Cart with Side Rails
The platform-cart configuration is intended for buyers who need a flat loading deck with more containment than an open platform truck. The rails can help limit sideways movement of compatible cartons, containers, tools or supplies during normal handling.
Rail height, spacing and opening direction should follow the actual item dimensions and loading workflow. Higher or denser rails are not automatically better: they can improve containment but may reduce loading access. The buyer should therefore define which side must remain open and whether rails need to be removable.
Reference Size
| Platform Cart Reference | 900 × 600 × 900 mm |
| Custom inputs | Rail height, rail spacing, platform size, handle arrangement, deck style and castors |
Reinforced Platform and Deck Options
The current product structure uses a folded stainless steel platform with reinforcement beneath the deck. The final reinforcement arrangement should be reviewed together with platform span, material thickness, working load, concentrated loads and castor specification.
Flat stainless steel decks and pressed patterned decks can be reviewed according to the selected product. A patterned surface may provide additional local stiffness and texture, while a flat deck provides a continuous easy-to-wipe surface. The final deck structure should be confirmed in the approved quotation or drawing.
Working Load, Load Distribution and Castors
Working load cannot be determined from stainless steel thickness alone. Platform dimensions, reinforcement, frame connections, handle structure, castor capacity and the way the load is distributed all affect trolley performance.
A stock pot creates a concentrated load and a higher centre-of-gravity consideration than several cartons spread over a platform. Buyers should therefore provide the expected operating load and explain whether it is concentrated or distributed.
Castor diameter, wheel material, swivel pattern and brake arrangement should be selected according to the load, floor surface, doorway thresholds, route length, turning requirement and noise expectations. A common four-castor arrangement can be reviewed, but the final swivel and brake pattern should follow the project rather than being assumed from a generic photo.
Material and Thickness
SUS201 and SUS304 are common quotation options for this product family. SUS430 or SUS316 can also be reviewed when specifically requested and suitable for the application. Material may differ by component when this is clearly stated and approved.
The current product reference includes approximately 0.8–1.5 mm thickness options. Final sheet and tube thickness should be confirmed by component and matched to platform size, reinforcement, intended load and buyer specification rather than applying one thickness value to the complete trolley.
Handle, Retaining Ring and Side-Rail Customization
- platform length and width
- retaining ring diameter and position
- side-rail height and spacing
- fixed or removable rail structure where suitable
- handle height, width and tube structure
- flat or pressed platform surface where applicable
- material grade and component thickness
- castor diameter, wheel material, swivel and brake pattern
- packing and assembly format
For drawing-based configurations or repeat distributor programs, SENFON can review these details through OEM/ODM Customization Services.
Detachable Structure and Export Packing
The handle, rails, retaining structure or other selected components can be designed for detachable assembly when the product structure and required load allow. The goal is to balance shipping volume with final rigidity and practical assembly.
Carton packing with internal protection can be used for suitable assembled or KD configurations. Wooden frames or crates can be reviewed for larger units, LCL shipments or projects requiring additional transport protection. Packing should be confirmed after finished dimensions, quantity, assembly format and shipment method are known.
Which Trolley Should You Choose?
| Transport Requirement | Starting Point | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Large stock pot or vessel | Stock pot trolley | Retaining structure can be coordinated with the actual vessel |
| Cartons or containers needing side containment | Platform cart with side rails | Flat deck retains loading flexibility while rails provide additional containment |
| Tableware, trays and routine foodservice items | 3-Tier Catering & Service Trolley | Multiple shelves are more practical for organized service transport |
| Three shelves with raised edges and end guardrails | 3-Tier Guardrail Trolley | Provides shelf-level containment rather than one large platform |
| General flat-deck bulk movement without side rails | Foldable Stainless Steel Platform Truck | Open platform provides easier loading where rail containment is not required |

FAQ for B2B Buyers
Does a retaining ring guarantee that a stock pot cannot tip?
No. The retaining ring helps position the vessel, but pot geometry, loaded weight, centre of gravity, route, movement and operating practice must still be evaluated.
Can the stock pot retaining ring be customized?
Yes. Diameter, position and related support dimensions can be reviewed according to the actual pot or vessel.
Can side rails be removable?
Yes, where the connection method and required working load allow. The removable structure should be confirmed in the approved drawing.
Can rail height and spacing be customized?
Yes. Rail layout can be reviewed according to the item dimensions, loading direction and containment requirement.
Can the platform dimensions be customized?
Yes. Platform length and width can be produced according to the confirmed project specification.
How should castors be selected?
Specify the working load, floor condition, route, thresholds, noise requirement and preferred brake arrangement. Castors should be reviewed as part of the complete trolley structure.
Can SENFON review a specific working-load requirement?
Yes. Provide the expected working load and load distribution so the platform, reinforcement, frame and castor specification can be reviewed before quotation.
