How to Plan a Commercial Wall Cabinet
Wall Condition and Fixings
Provide wall type, substrate, internal services and installation responsibility. Anchors and load capacity must be confirmed by the project installer for the actual wall.
Sliding or Hinged Doors
Sliding doors preserve aisle clearance but expose part of the cabinet at a time. Hinged doors can provide wider access but require swing space.
Reach and Clearance
Confirm finished mounting height, cabinet depth and the equipment below so staff can reach contents without obstructing work.
KD Export Design
A knock-down cabinet can reduce packing volume, but panel joints, squareness, door alignment and installation instructions must be approved before production.
Installation Geometry Comes Before Cabinet Capacity
A wall cabinet is selected from the available wall zone, not simply from the amount of storage requested. The project drawing should show the finished floor, worktop or equipment below, the mounting height, cabinet depth and any ceiling, duct, pipe, socket or service conflict. A cabinet that is too deep or too high may reduce visibility of the work surface and make the upper shelf impractical even if it fits the wall dimension.
The fixing system cannot be finalized from a product photo. Solid masonry, concrete, stud partitions and insulated panels require different site decisions. SENFON can provide cabinet fixing positions and product-side brackets in the approved drawing, while the project installer must verify the actual substrate, suitable anchors and allowable load. If backing plates or structural supports are required inside the wall, they should be resolved before installation rather than after the cabinet arrives.
Select Doors by Reach, Opening Width and Aisle Conditions
Sliding doors preserve forward clearance but only reveal part of the interior at once. Hinged doors can expose a larger opening but need a safe swing zone. Solid panels conceal contents; an approved glass or alternative vision panel allows visual stock checks but changes door weight, edge protection and cleaning requirements. The purchase specification should name the actual panel material instead of using “glass door” as a generic description.
Shelf spacing should be based on the tallest stored item plus hand clearance. The upper shelf may need a shallower usable zone because of reach limitations. Buyers should provide the planned contents, shelf quantity and expected load rather than request equal shelf spacing by default. KD Panel Control and Packing
When a wall cabinet is supplied knock-down, panel identification, diagonal squareness, door-track alignment and fixing-hole positions need to be controlled as one system. The packed set should separate panels from hardware, protect visible finishes and keep doors from rubbing during transit. Material grade and actual thickness remain component-level quotation items; no universal load or anchor capacity is claimed without the wall and complete installation being reviewed.

A meaningful quotation should distinguish the cabinet supplied by SENFON from the site work supplied by the installer. Check whether brackets, rails, loose anchors, shelves, doors and assembly hardware are included, and ensure the drawing shows fixing centres. Compare internal clear dimensions and usable door opening, not only the external width. If vision panels or lighting are requested, identify them as separate systems with approved materials.
For a repeat project range, keep one controlled installation drawing for each wall substrate or fixing arrangement. Do not reuse an anchor schedule from another building without site verification. Product images can demonstrate appearance, but only the approved wall and cabinet drawings establish a safe installation scope.

- Check reach to each shelf and door without assuming the external height is usable storage.
- Verify door travel, shelf retention and cabinet level after installation.

Flat-Pack Protection for a Wall Cabinet
When a KD structure is approved, flat panels, door faces and long tracks need separated surface protection and clear part labels.
