The working surface and stainless steel base are specified separately: buyers confirm the wood or approved board type, thickness, edge treatment, food-contact requirement and maintenance method, then define frame height, undershelf, leg structure and packing. This prevents a bakery work table from being quoted from appearance alone.

Confirm the Wooden Top Before Quotation
Top Material Is Not Generic
Specify the exact wood species or engineered product, grade, finish and acceptable appearance. Different top materials have different care and export implications.
Food Contact and Local Rules
The buyer should confirm that the selected top material, adhesive, coating and maintenance system are suitable for the intended food-contact use and destination market.
Moisture and Cleaning
Explain the cleaning method and exposure to water, heat and chemicals so edge sealing, joints and maintenance expectations can be reviewed.
Frame and Packing
Top weight, frame reinforcement, detachable structure and export packing must be coordinated to prevent movement or edge damage in transport.
The Wooden Top Must Be Named, Not Assumed
“Wooden top” describes an appearance, not a complete commercial specification. The buyer should state the required wood or board type, thickness, construction, surface treatment, edge profile and intended contact with food, tools, heat and moisture. Local food-contact rules and cleaning procedures belong to the buyer's project specification. SENFON should not substitute an unspecified board or claim that every wooden surface is automatically suitable for direct food preparation.
A bakery, butcher, packing room and general service area place different demands on the top. Repeated cutting, dough work, impact, hot trays and wet cleaning can require different materials or replaceable-top strategies. If the buyer already has an approved top supplier, the request should clarify whether SENFON supplies the stainless steel base only, receives a top for integration, or manufactures the complete unit from an approved sample and drawing.
Coordinate the Top with the Stainless Steel Base
The drawing should define how the wooden top is located, fixed and protected from movement without exposing unsuitable fasteners on the working face. Thickness changes the finished working height, so the frame height cannot be finalized independently. Overhang, edge radius and wall clearance also affect how the station aligns with adjacent stainless steel equipment.
The base may use an open frame, one undershelf or another confirmed storage arrangement. Square or round legs, adjustable feet and KD connections can be reviewed, but the frame must be designed around the top weight and real operating task. If the station carries machinery, provide the equipment footprint, feet and defined load so support positions can be coordinated.
Moisture, Replacement and Export Packing
Wood movement and surface wear make replacement planning valuable. Buyers should confirm whether the top must be removable, whether spare tops are required and what cleaning chemicals are used. During export, the wooden surface needs moisture protection and separation from stainless steel edges and hardware. Packing material should not trap moisture against an unfinished surface. Material grade and actual thickness for the stainless steel frame and shelf remain separate quotation items.
Compare Wooden-Top Table Quotations as Two Systems
Evaluate the top and stainless steel base separately. For the top, compare named material, thickness, lamination or joint method, surface treatment, edge profile and replacement method. For the base, compare material grade, actual sheet and tube thickness, reinforcement, feet, shelf arrangement and connections. A low quotation may omit the specified top treatment or use a different board while presenting the same overall table dimensions.
Before repeat production, approve a physical finish sample where appearance is important and record allowable colour or grain variation. The quotation should also state whether local seasoning, moisture content or food-contact documentation is part of the supplier's scope; no such documentation should be assumed.
Inspection should confirm finished height, top attachment, edge condition and frame leveling before the surface is protected for shipment.

Moisture-Controlled Export Packing
The top should be protected from moisture, point impact and metal hardware during transit, while the stainless frame is packed to prevent surface abrasion. KD division and desiccant or barrier requirements are confirmed from the wood, destination and transport route rather than applied as an unsupported universal rule.
